DATA GOVERNANCE MANAGER (fixed-term) | £50,000 per annum plus 18% bonus scheme
Hybrid role with both office and home-working. Please note this is a fixed-term contract until 2nd July 2027.
Responsibilities
- Implementing and managing the Corporate Data Governance Framework
- Providing expert guidance on data protection during new projects, programmes, and initiatives
- Offering specialist support on data compliance, policies, and procedures
- Promoting best practice and a strong privacy culture across the organisation
- Investigating and troubleshooting data issues, offering clear and actionable solutions
- Building strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business
Hours of Work
You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4-week period (37.5 hours per week). Normal working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. However, dynamic working is available whereby the earliest start time is 7am and the latest finish time is 7pm. This role will be hybrid with both office and home-working.
About You
Essential requirements:
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Methodical with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to problem solve
- Strong presentation skills
- Technical experience / knowledge of SQL and advanced Excel
- Experience in managing the procedures and policies aligned with the Data Protection Act
- Ability to research and distil information to solve data issues and queries
- Good knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA), Data Use and Access Act (DUAA) and PECR requirements and related guidance
- Proven experience in a data privacy/protection/governance or compliance role
- Proven experience in a data driven role, with a good understanding of data systems and data investigation
- Excellent communicator with the ability to engage, influence, and develop strong relationships with business stakeholders, evidence of excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You will need excellent organisational skills and be able to work to tight deadlines, flexible, able to work under pressure and be adaptable to changing requirements and deadlines
Desirable requirements:
- Understanding of European data protection laws and practices including DPA, EU GDPR and PECR
