An exciting role where you can step away from the desk and use a 400-acre forest as your office. The Grounds Services team is responsible for managing and maintaining the forest landscape at each of our Villages, including wildlife and biodiversity surveys. As a Conservation Ranger, you will maintain the Village’s grounds in accordance with the department’s Forest Management Plan, Standards of Performance and Health and Safety documents, as directed by Senior Forest Rangers and the Grounds Services Manager.

Other responsibilities include general landscape maintenance and assisting the forestry team with the management of mature woodland areas. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, hardworking, and able to work alone and as part of a team. Excellent communication and customer service skills are required as you will liaise with guests on a day-to-day basis. You must be prepared to attend for additional duties during periods of adverse weather conditions.

Travel: The role is based at Center Parcs Woburn Forest; reliable commuting is required.

Working Hours: Contracted to work 150 hours per 4-week period on a flexible basis. You will always receive at least your contracted hours each period. The village is open 365 days, so working hours will include public/bank holidays and during Christmas and/or New Year on a rota basis. You may also be required to participate in the department’s call‑out rota.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Countryside and Environment or Forest Management or equivalent experience (or prepared to undertake training).
  • A good knowledge of wildlife, with a specific personal interest in one study group.
  • Previous experience using agricultural, forestry and horticultural machinery, and certified competency in pesticide use.
  • Full Driving Licence held for a minimum of 6 months.
