As a Forest Ranger, you'll help keep our woodland safe, healthy and full of life - from maintaining footpaths to protecting wildlife habitats and waterways.

What you'll be doing:

  • Maintaining forest and landscaped areas
  • Operating specialist tools and machinery
  • Supporting conservation and seasonal forestry work
  • Work outdoors in all seasons and all weathers

Your working hours:

  • Full-time contract, with shifts between 7am and 7pm
  • You will be contracted to work a guaranteed minimum of 160 hours over a 4-week period. You may be asked to work additional hours in line with operational requirements
  • This role includes early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays
  • You may also be required to participate in the department's call-out rota as required

About you:

  • NVQ Level 2 in horticulture / forestry (or equivalent experience)
  • Comfortable outdoors in all weathers
  • Knowledge of tools and safety procedures
  • Full driving licence (held for a minimum of 6 months)
