This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in the new role of Maintenance Operative.
In this role, you will execute general maintenance works allocated by the Facilities Supervisor. These works will be conducted in order of priority basis with feedback provided on completed and uncompleted tasks. These tasks will be undertaken on both a pro‑active and reactive basis.
Responsibilities:
- Opening and closing the building on a rota basis
- Adjusting and repairing fixtures and fittings
- General painting and upkeep of internal office spaces and communal areas
- External general maintenance such as pressure washing, grounds and car park upkeep, including leaf blowing, hedge trimming etc
The successful candidate will be flexible with their working hours, as they will be required to work every Saturday, with a day off during the week.
Hours of Work:
You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4‑week period on a flexible basis. This means that your working hours and days will change, but they will usually be spread over 5 days per week. This role is required to work every Saturday and will receive a day off during the week. You will also be part of a 3‑weekly rota with other colleagues within the Facilities team with the earliest shift start time being 7am and the latest shift end time being 7pm. More details on the working hours will be explained during the interview process.
About You:
Essential requirements:
- Practical working experience and knowledge of general maintenance
- Personable and ability to communicate efficiently
- A current full UK driving licence
- Ability to execute work without supervision and with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively and as part of a team in dynamic and high‑pressure situations
Desirable requirements:
- NVQ qualification, or equivalent
- ISRM qualification (National Spa Pool Plant Operators certificate)
- PAT testing
- C&G 2377
- Practical working experience and knowledge of general maintenance in a hospitality environment
