What you'll be doing:

  • Monitor pool areas, ensuring guest safety and responding to emergencies.
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and uphold health and safety standards.
  • Complete NPLQ training and demonstrate rescue and first aid skills.

Requirements:

  • To be a Lifeguard you must be a strong swimmer and pass a swim test during the interview, which includes diving into deep water, timed swimming on front and back and exiting the pool without assistance.
  • Trainee Lifeguards must attend a 5‑day NPLQ course. Employment is subject to passing the course. The course includes classroom sessions on Lifeguard responsibilities, observing pool guests, performing rescues and administering first aid and CPR.
  • RLSS Pool Lifeguard / NARS Qualification and completed 20‑hours of continued professional development (Qualified Lifeguards only).
  • Able to swim 50 metres within 55 seconds.
  • Communicate effectively with people and stay calm under pressure.
  • Friendly, genuine and warm towards guests and colleagues.

You’ll need to complete a DBS check before starting (we’ll help with that).

Your working hours:

  • Part‑time. You will be contracted to work a guaranteed minimum of 48‑128 hours over a 4‑week period.
  • You may be asked to work additional hours in line with operational requirements.
  • This role includes early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
