We’re now looking for a highly skilled Bench Joiner / Carpenter to join our passionate workshop team. If you take pride in your craft, can interpret detailed design drawings, and enjoy working closely with designers to bring concepts to life — we want to hear from you.

As a Specialist Bench Joiner, you’ll be responsible for crafting high-quality, custom-made exhibition stand components, furniture, and features from our fully equipped workshop in Wellingborough. You'll work closely with our in-house designers and project managers to ensure flawless execution, precision joinery, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, design plans, and specifications
  • Identify and correct design or technical errors before or during build
  • Manufacture bespoke components using a range of timbers, boards, and finishes
  • Collaborate with the design team to refine joinery details and resolve practical issues
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and finish in all workmanship
  • Ensure efficient and safe use of workshop tools and machinery
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organised, and productive workshop
  • Meet deadlines while upholding premium quality standards
  • Contribute to a supportive, solution-focused team environment

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a bench joiner or specialist carpenter (5+ years preferred)
  • Excellent craftsmanship with attention to detail
  • Strong ability to interpret and work from technical drawings
  • Confidence to identify design flaws and suggest improvements
  • Familiarity with woodworking machinery, hand tools, and finishing techniques
  • Organised and self-motivated with a problem-solving mindset
  • Team player with good communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience in the exhibition, events, or bespoke interiors sectors
  • CNC or CADCAM experience a bonus, but not required
  • Forklift licence or basic site handling knowledge useful
