Job Details Responsibilities:

  • To provide day to day leadership, development and monitoring for field based nurses within the region allocated.
  • To support the Operations Manager, Field Nurses to ensure all aspects of clinical care, patient support and clinical excellence is delivered as per our contracts with the NHS, customers and industry.
  • To deputise for the operations manager, field nurses as required.
  • To uphold the mission of Alcura at all times – dedicated to patient care.
  • To ensure the field nursing team within the region are adhering to the approved processes and procedures set out regarding all aspects of clinical care, patient support and clinical excellence.
  • Ensure all Nurse visits are arranged and successfully completed within the business SLAs for the region.
  • To manage the Nursing team in the region with a positive ‘can do attitude’ to engage teams in a KPI driven culture which you will develop and implement, delivering challenging productivity targets.
  • This role will require actively managing and prioritising on improving the quality and efficiency of processes within the team as directed by the operations manager, field nurses.
  • You will be able to recognise weaknesses in systems and this astute awareness will enable you to drive for continuous improvement and CAPA.
  • You will have awareness of QMS and recognise the importance of adopting the Alcura Q-Pulse system in your daily activities.
  • Complaints and Information governance issues should be immediately responded to and prioritised with preventative measures driven into the team performance.
  • Managing the day to day of the Nursing Team within the region through KPI measures relating to Nurse Visits being arranged within SLA, KPI, individual performance, Nursing Issues and advisory issues.
  • Ensuring a performance feedback loop is in place with all Coordinators. Enabling a culture of performance management.
  • Monitor staff competencies, provide education and training and manage a programme of ongoing staff development to enable field based nurses to deliver best practise, evidence based patient care.
  • Undertake annual performance reviews; set targets and objectives for the team members and support team to develop skills to enable excellent care delivery to patients.
  • Continue to provide clinical care to a caseload of patients for 20% of the working week, including nurse on call, patient telephone support and face-to-face visits.
  • To ensure all nurses within the region have development plans in place.
  • Manage relationships with other departmental teams within Alcura to support our business goals.
  • Being an escalation point for the nurse administration team when cover is needed for a visit.
  • Ensuring the team within the region use the Alcura systems as designed, ensuring that all data is correct, and that Alcura data policies are adhered to.

Education:

  • Registered nurse with senior nurse experience.

Experience:

  • People leader with direct line management.
  • Experience of working in the community as an autonomous practitioner (essential).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (essential).
  • Professional qualification relevant to the position (i.e. Oncology qualification; specialist nursing qualification).
  • Experience in staff development - teaching and assessing qualification (desirable).

Skills:

  • Evidence of completion of mandatory nurse updates – up to date portfolio.
  • Good IT skills and use of Microsoft suite.
  • Full driving license.
  • Good interpersonal skills and effective communication at all levels.

Additional Information:

  • This role will include some travel nationally between offices, NHS hospitals and Industry Partner offices as and when necessary.
  • Nurse on-call will be shared on a rotational basis.
  • The Senior will be required to visit all field based nurses for reviews and competency assessments which may incur high car usage.
