Job Details:
- Location: Northampton, NN4 7PU
- Days and Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day to be worked on a rotational basis as required between the hours of 6:00am to 4:30pm - Monday to Friday.
- Rate of Pay: £12.40 per hour
Job Purpose:
To assist the Inventory Team Lead in the effective and accurate maintenance of the Branch Inventory System. To assist in the audit of all Inventory related tasks/functions and ensure correct procedures are followed.
Key Accountabilities:
- To maintain accurate slot data
- To ensure correct processing of new and discontinued lines
- To print shelf edge labels and productivity description labels
- To ensure processing and audit of all Stock write off
- To count stock accurately in accordance with schedule
- To ensure audit and investigation of all count overrides/stock discrepancies
- To audit and correct batch refill/billing failures and goods inwards defaults
- To record daily all count discrepancy items
- To assist with the reconciliation of company stock takes as required
- To carry out any reasonable request as determined by Branch Management
- To manage the recall process, follow & action
- To deal with all stock queries received & action
- Expiry date check
- Short dated stock check
- To manage & follow up Quarantine stock
- To manage the damages & destruction process
- Support other teams when needed, ensuring cross-training between departments where necessary
- Work with emails and communication platforms such as Microsoft Outlook and Teams
- Complete reports and handle any other tasks as required by the business
- Combine warehouse-based duties with office-based administrative tasks to support operational efficiency
Key Working Relationships:
Regular liaison with Warehouse Manager, Supervisors, Warehouse Operatives and other employees within the Service Centre.
Level of Decision Making:
Required to act on own initiative and work unsupervised at times.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
Essential:
- High Visual Accuracy
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate numeracy and literacy
- Customer care
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures within the warehouse environment
- Ability to work at height, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Capability to lift and move materials as needed
- Flexibility to work shifts and meet operational needs
Desirable:
- Any previous experience of working in a warehouse environment
- Inventory experience
