We have an opportunity to join the Nordicare® Team serving patients in the Midlands area. This is a bespoke nursing service, using clinical expertise to a range of patients and you will be instrumental in the teaching and support of Growth Hormone Treatment on behalf of NovoNordisk. The successful applicant will need to deliver high standard of individual care to patients receiving Endocrine therapy. Due to the nature of the role candidates will have time to spend with the patients offering the best possible care. Ability to drive is a must as you will have a geographical location allocation in the Midlands area, to meet all patients needs.
Principal Accountabilities
- Provide clinical nursing support as required and directed by Alcura, in line with standard protocols for the Nordicare Service. Autonomously manage a changeable patient cohort; maintain and demonstrate competencies at least annually.
- Use practice based evidence to support clinical care (e.g. cannulation, phlebotomy, injection techniques) and use most appropriate equipment for safer patient care. Attend training events to provide professional service to meet company demands and to maintain nursing registration. This can include attending and contributing to appropriate conferences, tutorials, study and induction days.
- Ensure that service provision is protocol driven to meet governance requirements. Demonstrate an awareness of the relevant CQC requirements whilst working for Alcura.
- Maintain clinical registration and revalidation as per NMC standards and maintain professional standards of care at all times, in line with the NMC Code.
- Report adverse events, complaints and service failures in a timely fashion and according to company policy and regulatory guidance. Record and document all clinical activity, clinical observations and feedback as per the NMC documentation standards. Send documentation via a secure nhs.net email account. Communicate clinical matters through agreed pathways within the hospital or Pharma company in a timely fashion (usually 48 hours or immediately if serious).
- Maximise effective customer contact time through planning preparation and minimising non-productive activity and travel time. Provide effective and comprehensive reporting to line manager against clear time frames, ensuring that professional concerns are escalated and managed in a timely fashion.
- Maintain adequate working stock levels for disposable equipment such as needles, pens, teaching equipment, dressing packs, skin prep etc and re-order supplies using the approved stock list. Store all clinical equipment safely in the car, ensuring no medical equipment is left in public view.
- Assist in the development and marketing of clinical home care services, including, but not limited to infusional, injectable, oral therapies, and telephone support and advice.
- Work in collaboration with Alcura commercial, business development and operational teams to provide support and clinical advice as required.

Additional Information
There will be travel within the territory due to patient locations, which we are aware is extensive, however there is limited requirement to stay away overnight except for occasional team meetings depending on where on the territory they are.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- Qualified nurse - RSCN part 1 NMC Register
- Highly motivated, positive and customer service orientated
- Experience in an acute care setting/relevant ENB post registration qualification
- ENB 998 or C&G 730 and/or teaching experience
- Excellent report / record keeping skills
- Effective communication
- Proven adaptability skills, good planning, organisation and time management skills
- Able to operate in a team environment, Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient in IT systems – in particular Word, Excel and Power Point, Microsoft Teams
- Experience of working in a community setting
- Car driver (max 6 points on full driving license)
- Cannulation and phlebotomy skills (desirable)
- Experience in the care of IV and SC devices and administration of IV and SC therapies (desirable)
