The Role
We are looking for an organised and analytical Optimisation Clerk to join our Leeds Service Centre Operations team on a permanent night shift. In this role, you will support the Warehouse Operations Manager in identifying, developing and implementing operational improvements across the business. Working closely with Service Centre leadership teams, operational stakeholders and support functions, you will help drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, service delivery, compliance and customer experience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills and operational awareness who enjoys problem-solving, process improvement and delivering tangible business benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement, delivering cost savings, efficiency gains and service enhancements.
- Develop project proposals, implementation plans and roadmaps to support optimisation initiatives.
- Support the delivery and ongoing management of the Resource Planning Tool strategy across the Service Centre network.
- Work with Service Centre Managers and operational teams to ensure agreed processes and procedures are implemented consistently and measured against established KPIs.
- Analyse Service Centre sales, operational and performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Create accurate stock movement plans for the Leeds site, ensuring stock is relocated effectively between pick and reserve locations.
- Audit previous stock moves and maintain accurate records to support operational efficiency.
- Lead the identification, design, testing and implementation of process and system improvements, ensuring successful adoption across the business.
- Monitor and review implemented changes to ensure expected benefits are delivered and sustained.
- Benchmark operational performance and identify further opportunities to optimise productivity, service and cost.
- Ensure all changes comply with GDP requirements, licensing regulations and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support Service Centres in completing required monthly reporting and data downloads.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Experience within logistics, warehousing, pharmaceutical distribution or a wholesale environment (preferred).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify improvement opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A good understanding of IT systems and warehouse management systems.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- The confidence to challenge existing ways of working and support positive change.
