Hours per week: 38 hrs, Monday to Saturday; overtime available up to 48 hrs.
Job Summary
This role is a multi-drop delivery driver.
The driver will deliver company products to customers in a safe and timely manner and act as a first point of contact, maintaining a high standard of customer care at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and competent driving standard, observing speed limits and traffic signs.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness, including lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
- Report any faults, breakdowns, accidents, or delays.
- Maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle, including cleanliness.
- Ensure sufficient fuel for the day’s work.
- Maintain vehicle and contents security at all times.
- Confirm all orders on drop sheets and load them onto the vehicle.
- Collect returned goods (credits, mail, bins) and safely return them to the branch as directed.
- Deal with damages/breakages promptly and correctly, following Hazchem procedures.
- Maintain a smart appearance.
- Help maintain good customer relations.
- Assist with other duties, including warehouse tasks, as assigned.
- Meet all Health & Safety requirements.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Full driving licence relevant to the vehicle being driven.
- Assessment may be made for licence points; clean licence not required but may affect selection.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer care skills.
- Intermediate numeracy and literacy.
Desirable
- Previous multi-drop delivery driving experience.
- Route planning experience.
