This role supports Alphega, a Cencora business that serves a network of independently owned pharmacies across Europe. You will implement the Alphega Pharmacy market strategy and deliver Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as member recruitment/retention, revenue targets and compliance measures. Your responsibilities include guiding members through their journey, acting as a business expert and coach, and ensuring each member develops in Operations, People, Finance and Consumer to maximise revenue and profit. You will share and implement best practices between members, encourage idea cross‑fertilisation, and foster member and consultant networking. As a recognised ambassador and brand custodian, you will bring the consumer brand promise to life in member pharmacies. This is a field‑based role covering Birmingham and the Midlands area.

Responsibilities

  • Complete initial and ongoing business audits, assess business competence and KPIs against standards, and develop an agreed growth plan with clear actions and timelines.
  • Guide and coach members and their teams through the growth plan, ensuring progress and organising local support as needed.
  • Carry out an annual assessment of member progress, measuring KPIs and customer/mystery shopper feedback, and re‑assess the growth plan.
  • Convert identified potential members into Alphega Pharmacy members, determine membership level, and implement contractual terms within guidelines.
  • Retain new and existing members by taking appropriate action to avoid losses.
  • Implement the agreed concept in member businesses and uphold execution standards, including manufacturer activities.
  • Audit KPIs during each visit, provide performance feedback, identify hindrances to compliance or loyalty, and recommend remedies.
  • Develop tactics to convert low‑engaged members into highly engaged and compliant members, and identify members no longer suitable for the network.
  • Collaborate with wider Alliance Healthcare functions and brands to recruit, grow members and influence the Alphega agenda.

Qualifications

  • Pharmacy, pharmaceutical or retail industry experience.
  • Expertise in developing business development plans and executing world‑class strategies.
  • Coaching and mentoring experience with individuals and teams.
  • Excellent influencing, negotiating and communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and communicate reasoned conclusions.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Working knowledge of digital tools.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Multi‑site experience within retail or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Degree in Business Development, Marketing or equivalent.
