Responsibilities:
- To ensure that all direct reports adhere to the Company Health & Safety policies/standards at all times.
- To ensure that all accidents and near misses are reported immediately to the HS&E Manager.
- To ensure that all department activity is performed in accordance with company procedures and client instructions.
- To understand all functions of the warehouse and offer support, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Maximize profit and minimize cost paying particular attention to planned and used hours through Cognos.
- To control the weekly charging reports including any Ad hoc activity.
- Ensure all contact with clients/customers is both professional and responsive to their needs.
- To ensure that the KPI results are to agreed targets and/or plans are in place to achieve set targets.
- To brief the team at regular intervals.
- To actively support and encourage teamwork throughout the workplace.
- To encourage continuous improvement in all areas of contract operations and be pro-active in identifying problem areas and suggesting solutions.
- To identify members of staff that require training and arrange for the training to be carried out alongside the HR team.
- To ensure Supervisors are sufficiently trained to deal with any operational issue.
- To conduct regular performance reviews and at least once annually conduct a performance appraisal with each report.
- To discipline staff in line with the Company Discipline and Grievance Procedure.
- To recruit staff in accordance with the Company Procedure, gaining the appropriate authorisation.
- To monitor staff appearance, ensuring that the company uniform is worn and is clean and in presentable condition ensuring that all staff wear identity badges.
- To ensure H&S guidelines are adhered to and all staff are aware of their responsibilities.
- Attend weekly Managers review.
- To ensure the shift handover log is completed and communication between shifts/contracts is maintained at all times.
- To ensure daily H&S/Housekeeping checks are completed.
- To understand GDP and ISO.
- To ensure Inventory routines are maintained.
- To ensure that all MHE checks are completed when required and MHE is only used by authorized personnel.
- To walk the warehouse daily noting any issues with the racking, MHE or product damage along with any housekeeping issues.
- To ensure any Customer Service issues are dealt with in the agreed timescales.
- To understand the quality requirements of the contract and ensure staff are trained accordingly.
- To ensure that any query or complaint is investigated and dealt with accordingly.
- To monitor product returns and warehouse damages to ensure targets are met.
- To carry out any reasonable requests as determined by Senior Management.
