This role is in support of Cencora's wholesale distribution services in Europe operating through our Alliance Healthcare business. It ensures speedy, efficient, and accurate delivery of assembled products and invoices to the customer within corporate guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and traffic signs, and giving due regard to other road users.
- Perform a daily vehicle inspection to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy, including lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
- Report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
- Abide by all tachograph laws and ensure daily or weekly rests are taken as required.
- Confirm that all Proof of Delivery documented on drop sheets has been delivered to customers and report any shortages to the transport department before leaving the customer.
- Collect goods returned from external customers when instructed by the transport staff.
- Maintain the internal and external condition and cleanliness of the vehicle.
- Ensure sufficient quantities of fuel for the day's work are taken.
- Maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
- Check all orders shown on the dropsheets and ensure all orders are loaded onto the vehicle.
- Log all trailer seal numbers before departure and before opening at the service centre or external customer.
- Deal promptly and correctly with any damages or breakages, following special procedures for hazardous chemicals.
- Maintain a smart appearance at all times.
- Help maintain good customer relations.
- Maintain good communication with the transport staff based at the service centre.
- Carry out any other duties as may be defined by the Management.
- Meet all Health & Safety requirements.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Full driving licence relevant to the vehicle being driven, with licence status updated in the fleet services as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer‑care attitude.
- Intermediate numeracy and literacy skills.
- Previous experience of multi‑drop delivery driving is highly desirable.
- Route‑planning experience.
- Strong communication, team‑working and proactive action skills.
- Ability to build customer loyalty through effective service.
- Safety awareness and adherence to safety procedures.
