This role is a multi-drop delivery driver role and the person will be responsible for delivering company products to the customer in a safe and timely manner. You'll be a representative of the company and be one of the first points of contact for our customers, so a high standard of customer care must be maintained at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
- Perform a daily vehicle check to ensure it is in a roadworthy condition, including lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
- Report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
- Maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle and its cleanliness.
- Ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.
- Maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
- Check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
- Collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and safely return them to the branch as instructed by branch management.
- Deal promptly and correctly with damages/breakages, following special procedures for HazChems.
- Always maintain a smart appearance.
- Help maintain good customer relations.
- Be involved in other duties, including warehouse tasks, as defined by Management.
- Meet all Health & Safety requirements.
A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven. Route planning experience.
Qualifications:
- A full driving license relevant to the vehicle being driven.
- Clean driving record is preferred, but points on licence will be considered in shortlisting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer care skills.
- Intermediate numeracy and literacy.
- Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable.
