Hours of Work: 48 hours per week (Monday–Saturday)

Job Purpose

To ensure the speedy, efficient, and accurate delivery of assembled product and invoices to the customer within corporate guidelines.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain a safe and competent driving standard, observing speed limits and traffic signs.
  • Daily vehicle checks for roadworthiness, checking lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
  • Report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
  • Maintain the internal and external condition and cleanliness of the vehicle.
  • Ensure sufficient fuel for the day's work.
  • Maintain security of vehicle and contents at all times.
  • Check orders on dropsheets and verify all orders are loaded.
  • Collect goods returned for credit, mail, cheques or delivery bins and return them safely to the branch.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Deal with damages and breakages promptly in accordance with HazChem procedures.
  • Maintain a smart appearance at all times.
  • Help maintain good customer relations.
  • Perform other duties as may be defined by Management.
  • Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Full driving licence relevant to the vehicle being driven.
  • Driver must be over 21 years of age.
  • Must keep fleet services updated with licence changes (e.g., points, bans).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer care.
  • Intermediate numeracy and literacy.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in multi‑drop delivery driving.
  • Route planning experience.

Manual Handling

Manual handling tasks such as lifting and bending are essential requirements of this role. The company does not offer reasonable adjustments for applicants unable to perform these duties.

  • Constant interaction with external customers.
  • Regular liaison with other drivers and members of the transport team.

Decision Making

  • Act on own initiative and work unsupervised.
