About the Company - CEN Resources are working in partnership with a very successful and growing engineering consultancy based in Glasgow. Due to growth and project awards, our client is now looking to hire a Process Safety Engineer. Our client operates within various process industries such as Energy, Chemicals, Food & Beverage, and Life Sciences. About the Role - As a Process Safety Engineer, you will be supporting the preparation, scribing, and reporting of a variety of process safety assessments including HAZID, HAZOP, Systematic What If, SIL Determination by LOPA, etc. as well as other technical safety work such as Hazardous Area Classification, DSEAR assessments among others. We are looking for candidates with sound process safety understanding, and people who have the right attitude and behaviours to enhance our service offerings.
Responsibilities
- Providing process safety discipline input on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Assist in delivery of technical aspects of discrete process safety packages of work including, but not limited to, safety assessments mentioned above.
- Responsible for providing technical input to process safety standards, internal procedures, and other key processes.
- Carrying out survey of regulatory standards and industry best practice on process safety and liaise with Clients and other disciplines.
- Reviewing engineering and design documentation and drawings.
- You must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with multi-discipline teams.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree qualified.
- Awareness of process safety lifecycle including concepts such as Risk, Independent Layers of Protection layers, Risk Reduction Factors, Major Accident Hazards, Hazardous Area Zoning, Human Factors, etc.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office suite and basic awareness of specialized process safety software such as PHA Pro, Bowtie XP, PHAST, ALOHA, etc.
- Experience via summer placement or voluntary work is desirable.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues internally and clients, contractors externally.
- Valid UK driving license for travel to customer sites.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (UK and abroad) as part of work assignments.
- The right to work in the UK.
