We have an exciting opportunity within the Virtual School Sensory Support (VSSS) for a Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People. The VSSS has a strong local and national reputation and delivers positive outcomes for children and young people who are blind, vision impaired, and/or deaf. The service includes qualified Teachers, Specialist Support Assistants, the habilitation team, and a technology/resources team.
Norfolk's VSSS is part of the SEND and Inclusion Service and collaborates with wider SEND and inclusion teams across Children's Services. The team for Deaf Children and Young People comprises several qualified Teachers and Support Assistants.
Candidate Requirements- Teaching qualification and a proven track record in improving outcomes for children and young people.
- Qualified Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People or willingness to undertake the mandatory qualification.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, creative planning abilities, and capacity to work effectively with parents, carers, educational, health, and social care colleagues.
