About Us
Norfolk County Council\’s Growth Hub, hosted within the Economic Development Team, is the go-to resource for Norfolk businesses looking for support to unlock their growth potential.
We are looking for professional people who have experience in business management to join our Business Adviser team to provide advice to businesses connecting that will foster growth, sustainability, and success.
Could you help us support more SME owners to ensure they get the best from their business?
You will be experienced and motivated to support established Norfolk businesses to reach new heights and achieve their growth ambitions.
The Role
As a Business Adviser, you will:

  • Partner with Norfolk businesses to assess growth potential and diagnose barriers to progress.
  • Conduct detailed diagnostics to develop bespoke action plans for business change, growth and sustainability.
  • Provide advice and ongoing support to businesses through face-to-face and virtual visits.
  • Develop and deliver tailored advice and solutions, provide ongoing support and coaching/ mentoring to clients.
  • Refer businesses to appropriate public and private sector support programs, both local and national.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote available business support and represent Norfolk County Council at workshops, events and networking opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure timely follow-ups using CRM systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest business trends and best practices.

About You
You are:

  • An experienced business professional with a solid background in managing SMEs or substantial business functions.
  • Have skills/ knowledge/ experience in business planning, including strategy, operations, risk management, and finance.
  • A confident communicator who can engage with diverse audiences, distil technical information into plain English, and build strong relationships.
  • Proficient in IT, with experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, and CRM systems.
  • Knowledgeable about Norfolks economic landscape, including key partners, stakeholders, and support programs.
  • Willing and able to travel across Norfolk, including areas not served by public transport.
  • Be prepared to undertake further training to gain SFEDI qualification in Professional Business and Enterprise Support Services
