CEMA Ltd are looking for an experienced, individual who can work with our office and site teams delivering new and replacement PLC/HMI installations, including modifications of existing systems, telemetry works, signal testing and commissioning.

You will be working with our major UK client base within the Water Utility sector.

The position will need you to work within the office/home and on-site.

Main Responsibilities

As a Software Commissioning Engineer, you’ll need to

  • Keep project documentation updated and current.
  • Review software documentation, in particular IO schedules, Functional Design Specifications, and test documentation.
  • Carry out Internal Software testing (PLC, HMI & SCADA).
  • Carry out Client Software testing (PLC, HMI & SCADA).
  • Carry out MCC testing and configuration (intelligent components).
  • Commission the software and equipment in accordance with the test documentation.
  • Carry out software (PLC, HMI & SCADA) modifications, as required by the client in accordance with the snag list or variation requirements.
  • Carry out final documentation changes and software handovers, on completion of the project.
  • Be commercially aware of the commissioning allowance of a project and inform the Lead Software Engineers and/or Project Managers in case of exceeding the allowance.
  • Be commercially aware of the project scope and scope of supply.
  • Be commercially aware as to changes of the control software and inform the Lead Software Engineer and/or Project Managers of the required changes.
  • Be available to attend site and the office, in accordance with the project requirement, location, dates and times.
  • Adhere to the CEMA operational and HR procedures.
  • Adhere to the CEMA safety procedures and safe methods of working.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner and always promote the CEMA brand.
  • Other Responsibilities

The job may require other responsibilities to be undertaken, these may include (but not be limited to) the following:

  • Complete a full job life cycle (process design, documentation, code, testing and commissioning).
  • Site surveys.
  • Required Knowledge, Education and Experience

• A good working knowledge of the following is required

  • GX Works 3.
  • GT Designer 3.
  • RSView ME and SE.
  • Good electrical experience, be able to read electrical diagrams and preferably have an electrical qualification.
  • Full Driving licence.
  • Advantageous Knowledge, Education and Experience
  • Knowledge of Process Control in Water & Wastewater Treatment Works
  • RSLogix 500.
  • RSLogix 5000.
  • GX IEC Developer.
  • GX Developer.
  • E-Designer.
  • Knowledge for networks (Profi Bus, Ethernet, Device Net, Control Net).

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary – Competitive salary and benefits depending on experience.
  • Annual Leave – 20 days per annum in addition to the statutory 8 no. bank holidays (Jan – Dec).
  • An additional annual leave day will be awarded for 2 years’ continued service (January to December inclusive) and an additional day awarded each year after that until you have reached 25 days annual leave entitlement.
  • Pension – The company will contribute 3% based on your annual salary and personal contribution of 5%.
  • Death in service.
