The Group Used Vehicle Sales Manager is responsible for leading used vehicle sales performance across multiple dealership sites, driving profitability, stock turn, customer satisfaction and team capability. The role combines commercial leadership, operational control and people management to ensure used vehicle departments achieve budget, maintain compliance and deliver a high-quality customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead used vehicle sales operations across the group to achieve agreed volume, margin and profitability targets.
- Develop and implement group-wide sales strategies, pricing disciplines and stock management plans.
- Manage used vehicle inventory levels, stock ageing, vehicle acquisition, appraisal and disposal activity to maximise return on investment.
- Support sales managers and sales teams with deal structuring, forecasting, pipeline management and closing activity.
- Monitor key performance indicators including unit sales, gross profit, finance penetration, add-on product performance, conversion rates and stock turn.
- Ensure vehicles are prepared, merchandised and presented to a consistently high standard across all locations.
- Review market trends, competitor pricing and customer demand to inform stocking, pricing and promotional decisions.
- Work closely with our finance, aftersales, marketing and operational teams to improve customer journey and commercial performance.
- Handle escalated customer issues professionally and ensure complaints are resolved promptly and fairly.
- Maintain accurate reporting, forecasting and departmental controls in line with company policy and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with FCA requirements, consumer legislation, data protection and internal governance standards.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in used vehicle sales management within the motor retail sector, ideally across multiple sites or a group structure.
- Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering sales growth, margin improvement and effective stock turn.
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to influence managers and build high-performing teams.
- Sound understanding of used vehicle appraisal, pricing, remarketing and reconditioning control.
- Strong analytical and reporting capability, with confidence using sales and stock management systems.
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to balance commercial outcomes and customer satisfaction.
- Good knowledge of FCA compliance requirements and ethical sales standards.
- Full UK driving licence.
