I’m supporting an independent community pharmacy in Carlton, Nottinghamshire who are looking for a Superintendent Pharmacist to join them on a 4–5 day basis (including Saturdays). Start date: ASAP. Accommodation can be provided.
This is a great opportunity for a pharmacist who enjoys governance, leadership, and improving systems - ideal for someone who has previously “built items” within a pharmacy setting.
Our client is looking for someone with proven experience in building or improving operational and clinical governance structures, such as:
- Creating and updating SOPs
- Setting up new services (NMS, CPCS, vaccinations, contraception service, BP checks, etc.)
- Developing policies, safety protocols, and CD procedures
- Designing audits, risk assessments, and quality systems
- Improving workflow processes and dispensary efficiency
- Building training materials or staff competency frameworks
If you’ve helped shape or modernise a pharmacy from a governance and operational standpoint, this will be a strong match.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Superintendent Pharmacist and ensure full GPhC compliance
- Oversee governance, quality, safety, SOPs and legal standards
- Lead and support the pharmacy team
- Drive service delivery and optimise operations
- Support training, development, and staff performance
Working Pattern
Minimum 4 days per week, up to full-time 5 days including Saturdays. Start date: ASAP. Accommodation available for candidates relocating or commuting long distance.
Skills & Experience
- GPhC-registered Pharmacist.
- Previous experience as a Superintendent Pharmacist or senior/lead pharmacist.
- Demonstrable experience in building SOPs, policies, services, audits, or governance frameworks.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Confident decision-maker with a focus on safety, compliance, and efficiency.
- Community pharmacy experience essential.
What’s On Offer
£50,000 – £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. Accommodation provided if required. Opportunity to lead an established independent pharmacy with autonomy and support. Role suited to someone who enjoys governance, improving systems, and leading service development.
