This dual-role opportunity is ideal for professionals with combined expertise in geotechnical and geo-environmental disciplines. You’ll deliver integrated site assessments that inform planning, design, and remediation strategies. The role includes leading Phase 1 and 2 investigations, technical reporting, and the development of practical, cost-effective remediation approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multi-disciplinary ground investigations, integrating geotechnical and environmental data.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Intrusive Investigations, and follow-on remediation projects.
- Produce high-quality interpretive reports, combining contamination risk assessments with ground condition evaluations.
- Provide technical input into foundation designs, ground improvement strategies, and remediation schemes.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and regulators.
- Present findings clearly and support clients with planning conditions and environmental compliance.
- Supervise drilling, sampling, testing (e.g., BRE365, DCP, LWD), and lab coordination for both geotechnical and chemical analysis.
- Approve testing scopes and validate data outputs.
- Prepare accurate costings, monitor budgets, and drive efficient project delivery.
- Appoint and manage subcontractors to support delivery.
- Guide and support junior engineers and field staff across both technical areas.
- Promote cross-functional development and high standards across the team.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven experience in both geotechnical and geo-environmental project delivery.
- Strong technical report writing skills, including Phase 1 & 2 assessments.
- Working knowledge of remediation processes and environmental modelling.
- Practical understanding of ground conditions and foundation behaviour.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
