We are seeking a field-based Commissioning Specialist to deliver end-to-end commissioning works on clean water mains from 80mm to 1000mm. Working closely with the Field Supervisor and Project Manager, the role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient project delivery, acting as the key on-site point of contact.
Responsibilities include:
- Pressure testing, chemical dosing, chlorination, flushing, and water quality sampling across trunk mains and water assets.
- Ensuring full compliance with company, client, and industry HSE, safety, and environmental standards.
- Conducting pre-site, live, and post-site surveys, inspections, and briefings to ensure safe and compliant delivery.
- Liaising with internal teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers to maintain clear and effective communication.
- Monitoring and analysing dosing equipment performance, including flow, pressure, turbidity, and chlorine levels, to ensure compliance.
- Identifying, troubleshooting, and escalating commissioning issues to protect water quality, end users, and the network.
- Maintaining accurate records, managing equipment, supporting alternative workstreams when required, and mentoring technicians.
Who you are:
- Minimum 3 yearsβ experience in a commissioning role, with exposure to pressure testing, chlorination, and dechlorination (training provided where required).
- Relevant industry certifications such as EUSR Water Hygiene, SHEA Water, Hydrostatic Pressure Testing, NRSWA, Confined Space, and CSCS/SSSTS/SMSTS.
- Strong practical industry knowledge with the ability to brief RAMS and uphold the highest safety and compliance standards.
- Competent in IT systems including GIS mapping tools, PDA/Tablet use, and online reporting software.
- Proven ability to take ownership of tasks, coordinate resources, lead activities on site, and drive work through to completion.
- Experience in valve operations (including CALM Networks) and effective collaboration across field and office teams.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends in line with operational requirements.
