Scaled Solutions Ltd is an independent laboratory testing and consultancy company servicing the oil, gas and decarbonisation sector. As well as providing production chemistry services we also design and manufacture laboratory instruments and test equipment which evaluate chemicals for oilfield applications. These are used both in‑house and in laboratories worldwide and can be used in high pressure and high temperature conditions. We are seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our Engineering Services team. The successful candidate will help to build bespoke lab testing equipment for sale to our clients and for use in our own laboratories while also supporting our science teams by ensuring that our equipment is well maintained and calibrated. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and making a tangible impact.
What You Will Do
- Construction of special‑purpose test rigs to fulfil internal and external customer contracts
- Carrying out routine repairs, maintenance, modifications and calibration of in‑house equipment
Who You Are
- Relevant engineering qualification
- Practical experience of assembly work, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment in an engineering environment such as an active workshop
- Experience of equipment calibration, twin ferrule tube fittings (e.g. Swagelok, Parker), pneumatic or hydraulic systems and workshop machining
- Experience with workshop equipment including lathe and milling machines
- Practical knowledge and understanding of electrical and electronic systems
- Experience and use of 2D CAD system (AutoCAD)
- Basic understanding of P&ID or engineering drawings
- Experience in data acquisition systems
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001
