We are seeking a skilled Remediation Operative to join our operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to undertake groundworks, building works, remediation, reinstatement and OFTEC works on site in relation to company projects. You'll play a crucial role in environmental remediation and construction projects, working across varied sites while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out site works under the direction of the SEED Remediation Team Leader, Contracts Manager and/or appropriate staff.
- Utilise your own initiative, skills and knowledge where appropriate.
- Keep sites tidy, clean and safe, ensuring daily checklists are adhered to.
- Drive machinery and undertake hand dig excavation works to facilitate contamination removal.
- Support the maintenance and servicing of equipment, raising awareness of faulty equipment.
- Assist with collecting photographs throughout works for documentation purposes.
- Carry out works in accordance with health and safety regulations, including relevant RAMS documentation.
- Assist with spill response operations.
- Use power tools to carry out intrusive construction works.
- Identify potential hazards and work in a controlled manner around site-specific environments.
- Attend training sessions, toolbox talks and team meetings as required.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience of working on site in construction and/or remediation.
- Ability to operate plant and machinery.
- Ability to manage personal time to achieve high levels of productivity.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Can-do attitude with an adaptable approach to work in a varied and sometimes challenging environment.
- Basic DBS check.
- Willingness to work away from home when necessary.
Desirable
- Willingness to expand skill set and identify learning needs.
- Knowledge of contamination removal procedures.
- Experience with OFTEC works.
