About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Remediation Team Leader to join our operations team in Swindon. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of and lead one of our site teams undertaking building works, groundworks and remediation, primarily in relation to oil spill incidents at domestic properties. You'll play a crucial role in delivering remediation operations, supervising team members, and delivering projects in a timely manner while ensuring all works meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate as the lead on site undertaking civils and remediation works alongside a site operative supervised by you.
  • Carry out works under the direction of the SEED Contracts Manager and/or Operations Manager.
  • Run site works according to previously agreed schedules and budgets.
  • Utilise your own initiative, skills and knowledge where appropriate.
  • Drive machinery and undertake hand dig excavation works to facilitate contamination removal.
  • Assist with collecting photographs throughout all stages of works for comprehensive documentation.
  • Carry out works in accordance with health and safety regulations, including relevant RAMS documentation.
  • Follow structural engineer's drawings/plans to carry out propping works safely, including brickwork and blockwork.
  • Enhance skills such as OFTEC works to assist with spill response where necessary according to business needs.
  • Respond to emergency spill works outside of normal working hours when required.
  • Ensure sites are kept tidy, clean and safe throughout all project phases.
  • Attend training sessions, toolbox talks, and team meetings as required.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role undertaking construction projects on site with appreciation for health and safety.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Good general building knowledge with a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Good organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of project timelines.
  • Ability to undertake a variety of physically demanding tasks.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Positive attitude with a motivated approach and able to use own initiative.
  • Basic DBS check (or be willing to have one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to work away from home when necessary.

Desirable:

  • OFTEC qualifications or experience.
  • Previous experience in oil spill remediation or environmental restoration.
  • Experience supervising and developing team members.
  • Knowledge of structural propping works.
  • Trade knowledge (e.g. tiling, carpentry, plastering, bricklaying, etc.).

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £33,000 - £38,000 per annum and provide a comprehensive range of benefits including:
