CHPK Group is a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy providing Building Surveying, Cost Consultancy, and Professional Services. Operating from our London headquarters in Liverpool Street and regional offices across the UK. We are seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor to join our Project Management and Professional Services team. You will act as a trusted advisor within the commercial property sector, leading the technical delivery of projects, providing expert client advice, and supporting the development of junior team members. The role offers a varied workload including technical due diligence, dilapidations, refurbishments, project management, and contract administration, alongside opportunities to support business development and contribute to the continued growth of CHPK Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver a variety of Building Surveying services, including:
- Dilapidations representing both landlords and tenants, including the assessment, preparation, and negotiation of claims.
- Technical Due Diligence conducting surveys and preparing reports for acquisitions, disposals, and refinancing.
- Design & Contract Administration managing refurbishment and fit-out projects from inception to completion.
- Project Management and Employers Agent duties across a wide range of commercial projects.
- Defect Analysis, Schedules of Condition, and PPM reporting.
- Ensure technical accuracy, quality, and consistency across all project deliverables.
- Mentor Graduate Building Surveyors, including providing APC support and technical review.
- Contribute to business development, networking, and client engagement to grow CHPK Group's Building Surveying offering.
- Prepare and present reports, specifications, and cost estimates with professionalism and commercial awareness.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including Cost Consultancy, M&E Services, and Fire Engineering to deliver integrated client solutions.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Strong technical, contractual, and regulatory knowledge, particularly within commercial Building Surveying and/or Project Management.
- Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to travel to sites across London and occasionally nationwide.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
- Proven experience delivering commercial building surveying services including dilapidations, TDD, and contract administration.
- Experience acting as Project Manager or Employers Agent.
- Strong working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contract suites.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; Full UK driving licence.
