CHPK Group is a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy providing Building Surveying, Cost Consultancy, and Professional Services. Operating from our London headquarters in Liverpool Street and regional offices across the UK. We are seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor to join our Project Management and Professional Services team.

You will act as a trusted advisor within the commercial property sector, leading the technical delivery of projects, providing expert client advice, and supporting the development of junior team members. The role offers a varied workload including technical due diligence, dilapidations, refurbishments, project management, and contract administration, alongside opportunities to support business development and contribute to the continued growth of CHPK Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver a variety of Building Surveying services, including:
    • Dilapidations representing both landlords and tenants, including the assessment, preparation, and negotiation of claims.
    • Technical Due Diligence conducting surveys and preparing reports for acquisitions, disposals, and refinancing.
    • Design & Contract Administration managing refurbishment and fit-out projects from inception to completion.
    • Project Management and Employers Agent duties across a wide range of commercial projects.
    • Defect Analysis, Schedules of Condition, and PPM reporting.
    • Reinstatement Cost Assessments and feasibility studies.
  • Ensure technical accuracy, quality, and consistency across all project deliverables.
  • Manage client relationships, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed timescales, budgets, and expectations.
  • Mentor Graduate Building Surveyors, including providing APC support and technical review.
  • Contribute to business development, networking, and client engagement to grow CHPK Groups Building Surveying offering.
  • Actively share knowledge and best practices, promoting technical excellence across the company.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of current legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Prepare and present reports, specifications, and cost estimates with professionalism and commercial awareness.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including Cost Consultancy, and M&E Services and Fire Engineering to deliver integrated client solutions.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Strong technical, contractual, and regulatory knowledge, particularly within commercial Building Surveying and/or Project Management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Commercially astute with a sound understanding of market trends and client priorities.
  • Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team-oriented, with a commitment to collaboration across CHPK.
  • Confident representing CHPK Group at client and industry events.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to travel to sites across London and occasionally nationwide.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
  • MRICS qualification (essential).
  • Minimum of 1 years post-qualification experience within a consultancy environment.
  • Proven experience delivering commercial building surveying services including dilapidations, TDD, and contract administration.
  • Experience acting as Project Manager or Employers Agent.
  • Strong working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contract suites.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Deltek PIM is advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence.
