LOCATION: Watford, Hertfordshire (WD18)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday with a shift system from 9am to 7pm

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Trainee Administrator to join the dedicated team at Cellular Pathology Services (CPS), a respected provider of specialist digital pathology and laboratory services. As the Trainee Administrator you will be working within a medical laboratory setting, supporting a wide range of office-based administrative duties while also assisting with laboratory processes under supervision. This is a varied role where accuracy, organisation, teamwork and a professional approach are essential. The Trainee Administrator position offers excellent training, exposure to healthcare administration within a dynamic and purpose-driven organisation.

DUTIES

  • Undertake administrative duties within the medical laboratory office
  • Support the administrative functions of the laboratory and wider team
  • Assist with laboratory processes under the supervision of Biomedical Science staff
  • Help support Pathologists, Biomedical Scientists and colleagues in delivering a high-quality, patient-focused service
  • Maintain accurate records, data entry and filing systems
  • Handle documentation and general office administration to a high standard
  • Follow department procedures, quality standards and company policies
  • Comply with information governance, data security, health and safety and confidentiality requirements
  • Carry out ad hoc duties and support continuous improvement across the team

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Computer literacy and confidence using standard office systems
  • A proactive and positive approach to work
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and use your own initiative

DESIRABLE

  • Knowledge of general office procedures, filing systems and databases
  • Previous experience in an administrative or data entry environment
  • Typing and transcription skills

  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
