About the Role

As the Development Manager, you are responsible for supporting and delivering projects across the Samsung Electronics UK Logistics Operations. You and your team will help scope, project manage and deliver a variety of projects to support cost efficiencies, new services and other challenges as required by the business. You will be working across the internal team as well as working closely with Logistics Service Partners to ensure they deliver their project commitments. Whilst this role holds accountability for the whole development agenda, there is an expectation of some hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Samsung SDSE with stakeholders for new logistics projects and opportunities
  • Oversee and manage current development activities and pipeline of forthcoming developments
  • Ensure clear visibility and progress on all projects to stakeholders within own business and client side
  • Assess and monitor project trends to alert of possible risks to timescales and deliverables and interact with the business to manage any impacts
  • Provide logistical analysis and support to new concepts and projects
  • Learn key Samsung SDSE USPs and become familiar with the Cello TMS/WMS solution
  • Supporting role in tender management and solution design concepts
  • Work independently and proactively with confidence on projects and deliverables

Qualifications

  • Highly educated in logistics, sales or business-related activity
  • Expertise/affinity with supply chain management, procurement, innovation and development topics
  • Operational experience in Freight Forwarding environment, 3 to 5 years minimum
  • Experience in Business Development, Project delivery or Solutions design, 5 years minimum
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and relevant experience
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Conceptual and analytical thinking
  • Good problem solver and ability to manage under pressure
