Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership across the CAD, Site Design, Radio Safety and Electrical Design functions, ensuring consistent engineering excellence and alignment with business objectives.
  • Act as the accountable owner of design governance, ensuring all engineering outputs meet Cellnex, customer, and site provider standards.
  • Drive supplier performance management, providing feedback, corrective actions, and identifying opportunities for upskilling or rationalisation.
  • Provide technical coaching and training to internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality, accurate design deliverables are produced and recorded for each project.
  • Lead the development of internal engineering capability, mentoring designers, engineers and project teams to raise overall technical competency.
  • Serve as the expert authority on Site Design, RF Safety, Build Standards, Drawing Standards and Electrical Design within the organisation.
  • Ensure all Cellnex design documents, guidelines and technical specifications remain accurate, relevant, and fully aligned with legislative and industry best practice.
  • Review and validate complex or escalated designs, providing expert recommendations and technical solutions where required.

We Offer:

  • 20% target annual bonus
  • Enhanced Maternity, Paternity & Adoption leave offering; 26 weeks full basic pay for Maternity leave, followed by 13 weeks SMP – Enhanced leave is intended for all parents, whatever your family setup may be.
  • Income protection & Life assurance
  • Hybrid working model (3 days in the office, 2 days remote)

Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of key stakeholders and delivery partners across the UK telecommunications market.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams (CAD, RF safety, electrical, site design) and developing internal capability.
  • Proven ability to analyse investigation outcomes, identify root causes and implement structured development or corrective‑action plans to prevent recurrence.
  • A strong track record in delivering installation projects and large‑scale technical programmes within the telecommunications or broadcast infrastructure environment.
  • Solid understanding of current and emerging technologies used by UK mobile operators, including RAN, transmission, power and safety‑related technologies.
  • Hands‑on experience producing and reviewing Site Designs for UK mobile operators, with a deep knowledge of design standards, RF principles and build methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience working with third‑party suppliers, with evidence of driving measurable improvements in delivery quality, performance, or capability.
  • Experience establishing KPIs, dashboards, or performance monitoring processes for engineering or supplier functions.
  • Experience defining Scope, Policy and Technical Specifications through a structured and controlled document management process.

Don’t worry if you don’t meet every requirement. We’re building a workplace where everyone can thrive. If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply, even if your experience doesn’t tick every box.
