Team Leader Case Administration, Toxicology in Abingdon

Summary of Job

To supervise a team of Casework Support Officers to provide submissions and administrative support to the Toxicology team.

• Direct staff reports – Casework Support Officers (CSOs)

Essential Functions

• Lead and supervise a team of CSOs by scheduling workflows, prioritising throughput and maintaining efficiency, integrity and quality.
• Monitor performance of team members and provide timely and constructive feedback where required.
• Mentor and manage the progression of direct reports, set yearly SMART objectives and complete quarterly performance appraisals.
• Assist with the recruitment of CSOs.

Oversee organise training and development programs, mentor staff in CSO duties and be accountable for the work undertaken.

• Be accountable for the work undertaking by the team and ensure that all work is completed professionally, correctly, and in a timely manner.
• Responsible for ensuring that all procedures are accurately documented, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are up to date.

Also ensure that competencies are maintained as required.

• Deal with raising administrative CAPAs and assign corrective actions in a timely manner.
• Present relevant operational information to the team and Managers when required.
• To have or gain the knowledge and skills to effectively oversee all roles and duties within the CSO team.
• Aid the Toxicology team through continuous process improvement activities to improve TATs, quality and efficiency.
• Liaise with and foster close working relations with other Forensic teams at Abingdon and Chorley.
• Job Requirements

Education

• Basic secondary education GCSE or A levels

Experience

• Previous customer based administrative experience essential
• Team Leader/Supervisory experience an advantage
• Experience of process improvement processes an advantage

• Computer, keyboard and office skills
• Experience of word processing, spreadsheet and database packages – Word and Excel
• General administration skills

• Customer interface skills including the ability to translate customer needs into operational activities

• Some lifting and reaching, and may occasionally be required to move substantial archive boxes
• Working Conditions
• The position will be predominantly desk/PC based i. e. a computer workstation in an office environment
• Moderate noise levels
• Flexibility in hours may be required to deal with urgent business demands
