The Quality Assurance Technician will play a key role within the Quality Assurance (QA) team, undertaking an 11‑month Industrial Placement starting in September 2026. This position is designed for an undergraduate currently studying towards a scientific degree.
The Quality Assurance Technician will be an integral member of the QA team, responsible for maintaining, controlling, and continuously improving processes within the electronic Quality Management System (MasterControl). The Technician will work to ensure that CGT Catapult’s Stevenage Manufacturing Innovation Centre (MIC) meets the standards and expectations of key stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, collaborators, and internal departments. The Technician will provide direct support to Training, Document Control, and Facility Compliance functions, and contribute to monitoring and reporting system performance against agreed key performance indicators. Occasional ad hoc travel may be required to support the personal development of the role holder.
Key Responsibilities
- Work within a multi‑disciplinary QA team to employ and promote established governance processes for the maintenance and operation of the facility to GMP standards.
- Support implementation of quality procedures site‑wide, including training of personnel.
- Support maintenance of the Documents and Training modules, with appropriate access rights – within the MasterControl electronic Quality Management System (eQMS).
- Prioritise facilitation of Collaborator requests in support of their manufacturing activities.
- Issue, review and reconcile controlled documents to CGT Catapult and Collaborators.
- Collate Quality Management System metrics for analysis and generate data/reports for CGT Catapult management to monitor site performance.
- Perform facility walkarounds assessing for compliance with established procedures.
- Review and administer quality documentation, records (e.g., Non‑Conformances, Change Controls), procedure updates, and archive requests.
- Identify, plan, and deliver a continuous improvement project of own choosing, that improves the quality, efficiency, effectiveness, and/or cost of a quality process.

Qualifications
- Successful completion of the first year of a bachelor’s degree course in a Life Sciences subject.
