About the Role

You'll travel daily to customer sites across the Hospitality & Retail sectors to replace, swap, or repair IT devices covering Scotland, ideally based within the Edinburgh and Glasgow corridor. The role includes regular travel, occasional overnight stays, and a 5-day schedule across 7 days, including alternate weekends. Shifts typically run between 08:30-17:30 but may vary from 06:00-21:00 depending on the client.

What You’ll Do

  • Installation: Install, refurbish, and maintain IT equipment including tills, Chip & PIN devices, tablets, digital signage, media screens, kitchen systems, Wi-Fi infrastructure, and structured cabling (Cat5/5e/6 and fibre).
  • Site Services: Carry out equipment swap-outs, repairs, and support activities, ensuring all processes, documentation, and customer requirements are followed accurately.
  • Client Communication: Liaise with clients to understand requirements, clearly explain technical issues, and follow agreed escalation procedures when necessary.
  • Cabling & Termination: Install and terminate network cabling to patch panels and modules in line with industry standards.
  • Site Work: Conduct site surveys, audits, and research to support installations and project delivery.
  • Team Support: Provide support to colleagues both in the field and at head office, maintaining consistently high quality and service standards.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety policies, risk assessments, and on-site procedures always.

What You’ll Bring

  • IT Expertise: Strong experience with EPoS installations, ideally within Retail or Hospitality environments. Familiar with Cat5e/Cat6 data cabling and IT equipment configuration.
  • Technical Skills: Confident in setting up and supporting IT systems, with strong computer literacy and a high level of accuracy in documentation.
  • Mindset: Proactive, reliable, and able to remain calm under pressure. Takes ownership of tasks and follows through to completion.
  • Communication: Communicate clearly and professionally, working effectively with both engineers and clients.
  • Organisation: Demonstrate strong multitasking ability and effective time management skills.
  • Travel Requirements: Hold a full UK driving licence and is willing to travel as required, including possible overnight stays. Ideally you'll be located on the Edinburgh/Glasgow corridor.
