Reporting to the Manufacturing Team Leader, the Skilled Operator is responsible for all activities associated with final product assembly, testing, and NDE. This role requires travel to UK, overseas, and offshore installations on behalf of Celeros Flow Technology to perform service/maintenance contracts as required.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that all aspects of manufacturing, including assembly and testing, are efficiently controlled and successfully completed in the required timescales to satisfy customer and Company requirements.
- Operate machinery when possessing the necessary training/experience and take part in the multi-skilling objective operating within the company.
- Maintain quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Work in an efficient and organised way, managing non-productive time to avoid unnecessary costs to the business.
- Assist with factory maintenance programmes and maintain a clean, efficient, and tidy work area.
- Assist in packing, stores, and paint areas when necessary to meet business requirements.
- Travel to UK, overseas, and offshore installations on behalf of GD to perform service/maintenance contracts, which will require offshore survival training and medicals.
- Work a reasonable amount of overtime to meet both company and customer requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong industrial experience within a similar role and/or time-served apprentice.
- A sound mechanical engineering background - HNC or higher preferred (but not essential).
- Highly organised with excellent communication and time management skills.
Education and Experience
- HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role.
- Similar industry working environment is highly desirable.
