GENERAL SUMMARY

The Quality Control NDT Technicians will undertake Process & Product verification in line with company systems, regulatory requirements and management direction to ensure parts are fully in accordance with contractual requirements in accordance with the company’s quality management system This will cover all product lines that are purchased, manufactured, assembled and serviced within the Glasgow (Cathcart) facility. Working in accordance with company policies and procedures to meet external regulations to deliver standards such as: ISO 9001, ASME Certificates of Authorisation, EN 9712 (PCN) and SNT-TC-1A.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting all activities whilst maintaining the highest level of ethics and integrity.
  • Verification of product manufactured, purchased or assembled, in accordance with applicable drawings, procedures, route cards or other forms of detailed instruction.
  • Maintain self-capability as part of Quality Control team, being flexible to meet business needs in accordance with company procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure best practices are followed in the selection of appropriate QC/NDE techniques and processes.
  • Ensuring compliance to NCR process for quality disposition of non-conforming products.
  • Ensuring Quality Control areas are presented to the highest standard at all times.
  • Undertaking random QC checks to ensure that procedures and being followed in line with QMS and/or customer requirements
  • Coordinating with internal departments to identify, define and resolve product quality problems whilst providing advice, guidance and support on all aspects concerning NDE.
  • Supporting product related incident investigations, assisting where applicable so that lessons are established, learned and implemented such that there are no repeat incidents.
  • Support the review and development of Quality procedures and standards as legislative or best practice changes occur.
  • Promote company Quality standards and Culture with customers.
  • Issuing of accurate technical documentation for customers, aimed at verifying organisation’s products’ reliability, safety, and guarantee. ie Inspection reports, Hydrotest Certificates, NDE reports etc.
  • Participate on improvement projects to improve the efficiency and accuracy of all operational disciplines.

  • Promoting and adherence to Environmental Health and Safety policies, with awareness of the risks and hazards to self, whilst maintaining controls necessary to protect others
  • Perform all duties in accordance with the Company’s Procedures in order to deliver and maintain the highest standards of ethical behaviors and be a role model for others.
  • Developing self within role and participate in and develop from training and developmental activities assigned to oneself
  • Commit to training others, to ensure workforce flexibility and meet business demands.
  • Creating and maintaining good working relationships
  • Understanding and using of the correct reporting lines
  • Employees are expected to work whatever reasonable hours are necessary to meet the requirements of their job
  • Travel to sister, vendor or customer sites, and additional duties may be required on an ad hoc basis, so a degree of flexibility is required
  • Conduction all reasonable requests out with core duties to support the business aims.

Key Measurements

  • Process compliance in relation to Route Cards and SAP transactions
  • Accuracy on completion of contract documentation
  • Maintenance of records to demonstrate proficiencies into NDE disciplines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Good communication (both written and oral), influencing and interpersonal skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • High degree of integrity with highly professional conduct
  • Able to work under own initiative with limited supervision
  • Must be willing to travel to sister sites and/or vendors and able to spend time away from home
  • High capability level in the application of Quality Control / NDE processes and techniques
  • Working knowledge of company SAP System appropriate to functionis desirable
  • Basic level of computer proficiency
  • Experience of ISO9001,NQA-1, ASME Codes and Standards, RCC-M, ASNT-TC-1A and EN ISO 9712 is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of EHS principals is desireable

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

EN9712 (PCN) Level 2 qualification in a minimum of three disciplines:

  • Sector 5 Method 24 Ultrasonic Testing
  • Sector 2 Method 21 Magnetic Particle Testing
  • Sector 6 Method 25 Radiography
  • Sector 6 Method 23 Visual Testing
  • CSWIP 3.1Visual testing
