GENERAL SUMMARY
The Quality Inspector will be required to conduct the inspection of all pump component parts to the standards explained in the Bill of Materials.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Inspection and recording of component dimensions in accordance with the engineering drawings and specifications for each pump component.
- Recording and documenting of component deficiencies via our NCR system.
- An ability to understand and interpret complex engineering drawings for dimensional and visual acceptance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Time served Mechanical Fitter with at least 3 years relevant experience preferably in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- An ability to use a wide variety of metrology equipment and have experience in a similar environment or industry.
- Basic knowledge of computers and good communication skills.
- Candidates should be time served in a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent SVQ qualification.
- A training program will be given as required to a suitable candidate to increase product knowledge.
- Manufacturing experience, HSE awareness.
- A working knowledge of CMMs, ie FARO, Ferranti, CMM along with an understanding of NDE processes and qualifications including ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineering) Inspection certificates Level 1 2 and PCN Level 2 – Visual Inspection for welding would be an advantage.
