GENERAL SUMMARY
The Pattern Coordinator will be required to deliver all pattern requirements on-time and in full for all business contracts in order to fully satisfy customer requirements. Continually develop and improve pattern shop flexibility and performance. Consider Continuous improvements for future operations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Co-ordinates the storage and handling of pattern equipment at the Glasgow facility and liaises with suppliers regarding external storage of CUP pattern equipment.
- Manufactures patterns in line with internal and external stakeholder expectations.
- Maintains pattern inventory and updated records focusing on movement, condition, future proofing, and traceability of CUP patterns.
- Communicates to internal and external stakeholders regarding availability and condition of patterns equipment.
- May have to travel to suppliers to manage pattern equipment.
- Ensures pattern shop on-time delivery performance aligns with business KPI’s.
- Liaises with Foundries, Suppliers, relevant professional and regulatory bodies.
- Works cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Engineering, Technology, Tendering, and Quality functions.
- Controls air emissions (dust) within the environment, manual handling.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for achieving timely execution of pattern movement for all CUP range.
- Responsible for all elements of HSE within warehouse and storage areas.
- Maintains records and communicates to all stakeholders.
- Schedules pattern requests, movement, and all other activities for pattern equipment preparation.
- Completes pattern quality sign-off sheet for every new pattern and appropriate refurbished patterns for use in CUP projects.
- Manages physical movement of pattern equipment and warehouse management (internal & external).
- Handles database and inventory management.
- Considers the use of technology and modern materials to reduce existing equipment and reviews the requirements for modern manufacturing.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Time served pattern maker would be advantageous.
- Designing (Pro E, Solidworks) CAD, knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD Design.
- FLT licence would be an advantage.
- Laser scanning would be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
- Able to work in a team and independently using initiative.
- Knowledge of Pattern / Foundry process tooling, Pattern design & manufacturing, Foundry processes (i.e., Moulding, Core making, Melting, Rejection analysis, Maintenance & Repair of pattern) and a clear understanding of OH&S and environmental processes.
- Experience in warehouse management.
- Experience in a supervisory/Managerial role within Foundry or Pattern Shop environment, coupled with extensive knowledge of computer programmes as detailed above.
- IT and Database experience.
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Required daily to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, and see (specific close vision abilities are required to perform computer work).
- Required occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Required daily to use hands, fingers, and arms to reach (to operate a computer and telephone).
- Required occasionally to lift and/or move objects that are light to moderate.
- Required occasionally to travel (usually by air or road, so may be required to sit for extended periods).
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to work with moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, etc.).
- Ability to work in an open planned office / individual office.
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.
- Ability to sit in a car or on a plane for extended periods.
