As a Goods Movement Operative, your role will be to work as part of a team to flex and carry out all aspects of labouring, stores and dispatch duties.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safe daily operation of all Forklift Trucks in the factory for goods movement and loading and unloading of goods to/from carriers.
  • Ensure all waste is disposed of daily and in the correct waste area(s).
  • Cleaning out of Factory Machines and disposal of materials in a safe and correct manner.
  • Ensure factory floor is kept clean and tidy on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Visually check and count all deliveries before signing the Goods Receipt Note and ensure all are logged in daily on our MRP system.
  • Ensure all Material movements are up to date on a daily basis using the MRP system.
  • Responsible for the security of the Stores area.
  • Ensure all components within the stores are stored in an appropriate condition.
  • Ensure all Sales/Production orders are picked and laid out in accordance with the DIPs.
  • Ensure all goods/materials being shipped are packed correctly with accompanying paperwork.
  • Play an active role in stock checks as required.
  • Ensure all parts are rustband and free of rust.

Dispatch

  • Ensure packing of goods in a correct, safe and timely manner in accordance with customer and job requirements.
  • Involvement in POD procedure for checking stock locations and quantities.
  • Transact SAP and produce paperwork in order to dispatch goods.
  • Aid in arranging transport and work with all SAP paperwork for UK and Export dispatches.

General

  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.
  • Ensure correct appropriate PPE is worn at all times where required.
  • Drive company vehicles and carry out any reasonable task as requested.
  • Accountable for your own quality of work, self-inspection and completion of paperwork.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities when required.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a Stores/Warehouse/Goods Receiving/Packing and Despatch role.
  • Prior experience dealing with various types of materials and administrative tasks.
  • Prior knowledge and experience of using slings and shackles and safe lifting equipment/standards.
  • Self-motivation with a 'can do/will do' attitude.
  • Ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision.
  • Teamwork, both internal/external to Stores/Receiving.
  • Must be prepared to work outside as and when required.

  • A current counterbalance forklift truck operating licence will be an additional benefit.
