General Summary
As part of a team within the assembly and test area, the Mechanical Fitter will work on pumps for capital and aftermarket jobs. The role includes all aspects of assembly from building to dismantling products and testing within all test areas, including Hydro, performance, noise, and vibration.
This position provides specialist technical and craft knowledge of Plenty Pump products for field service support at customer sites located both in the UK and globally, including offshore installations. Responsibilities include supporting plant installation and commissioning, fault finding, repair, and upgrade scopes, including on-site machining operations and operator training.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities (essential Functions)
- Work in accordance with the Departmental Interface Procedures efficiently.
- Assemble new pumps for capital and aftermarket orders within laid down parameters.
- Dismantle and assemble repair/service pumps for aftermarket orders efficiently.
- Complete Strip Inspection report writing.
- Perform all aspects of testing within all test areas.
- Ensure economic manufacturing to the correct quality standard.
- Responsible for self-inspection and completion of paperwork and applicable checklists.
- Assist with problems within the assembly and test department.
- Assist in preparing/updating assembly documentation and tooling.
- Travel to customer sites, including UK and overseas onshore & offshore installations.
- Provide site technical and product support to clients on Plenty Pump products.
- Execute site support aspects of Plenty Pump Maintenance Best Practice.
- Support/conduct appropriate on-site inspection & repair of installed Plenty Pump product equipment.
- Liaise with Service, Aftermarket, Engineering, and Client on results and recommendations.
- Provide client practical training on Plenty Pump product equipment as required.
- Ensure compliance with Celeros EH&S requirements.
- Create a positive work environment/relationship with colleagues and customers.
- Provide ongoing support and training to peers and apprentices.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Work in other areas when required.
- Work with managers to implement company policies and goals.
Education, Skills And Experience
- ONC/HNC (or equivalent) Mechanical/Production engineering and/or extensive proven track record in a similar role.
- Time served papers and qualification of mechanical fitter or similar role.
- Understanding and experience of lean manufacturing techniques.
- Team player with high energy and commitment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Valid right to work in the UK is required.
