General Summary
The role of the Director ITO, Long Lead Procurement & Buyout Category Management Pumps is to lead the management of ITO (Inquiry To Order), Advanced Procurement, and Buyout categories for the group’s pump product range. This includes developing strategic implementation of products, cost reductions, long-lead procurement, and overseeing supplier performance execution and improvement.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Team Leadership & Management: Supervise the global ITO team and long-lead procurement for pumps. Organize team activities to achieve objectives and set priorities. Lead, motivate, and drive team dynamics. Maintain and develop employees’ skills.
- ITO Director: Collaborate with the ITO sourcing team during quotation preparation to secure competitive pricing. Ensure that critical deliveries undergo systematic monitoring and controls.
- Advanced Procurement Director: Oversee supplier selection for first-time purchases, work closely with engineering in engine design, generate new business opportunities, communicate negotiation outcomes, review technical specifications, develop proposals, support the global tendering team, negotiate offers, and develop the technical supplier portfolio.
- Category Management Director (Motors and Drives): Manage the overall purchasing strategy for the Pumps category, prepare RFPs, analyze market data, manage forecasting, resolve supplier claims, and manage supply chain performance indicators.
Responsibilities & Level Of Authority: Hold overall responsibility for the group’s supply chain, ensure compliance with procurement rules, approve project costs and partnerships, and define global partnership agreements.
HSE / CSR Responsibilities: Comply with and enforce company safety rules, apply nuclear safety rules, and contribute to continuous improvement of environmental, safety, and social impact.
Education, Skills And Experience: Master’s degree in engineering, metallurgy, or equivalent field, with 10+ years of experience in the pump industry. Detailed knowledge of electric motors, procurement processes, commercial techniques, and strong writing skills are required.
Professional Attitudes (Soft Skills): Strong ethics, adaptability, ability to propose and persuade, prioritisation skills, rigorous working style, excellent interpersonal skills, and stress management skills.
Physical Demands: Required daily to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, and see. Required occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch, lift light to moderate objects, and travel.
Working Conditions: Ability to work with moderate noise, in an open planned office, and sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.
