GENERAL SUMMARY
As a Goods Movement Operative, your role will be to work as part of a team to flex and carry out all aspects of labouring, stores and dispatch duties as further detailed (but not limited to) below:
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (But Not Limited to)
- Labouring
- Safe daily operation of all Forklift Trucks in the factory for goods movement and loading and unloading of goods to / from carriers.
- Ensure all waste is disposed of daily and in the correct waste area(s).
- Cleaning out of Factory Machines and disposal of materials in safe and correct manner and that factory floor is kept clean and tidy on a daily / weekly basis.
- Cleaning of factory floor.
- Ensuring replacement towels / toilet rolls are available and on hand.
- Clearing of completed production orders by stocking finished components and clearing inspection on SAP.
- Stores
- Visually check (& Count) all deliveries before signing the Goods Receipt Note and ensuring all are logged in daily on our MRP system, items are each unpacked, identified and labelled according to the DIPs and put away safely.
- Ensure all Material movements are up to date on a daily basis using the MRP system, and/or a log is kept of this to help control our stock.
- Responsible for the security of the Stores area.
- Ensure all components within the stores are stored in an appropriate condition and the correct rust protection is applied routinely as agreed.
- Ensure all Sales / Production orders (WIP, Spares & Capital) are all picked and laid out in accordance to the DIP’s and there is a double signature and photos taken and filed where applicable.
- Ensure all goods/materials being shipped are packed in the correct manner with accompanying paperwork and any SAP transactions are complete.
- Play an active role in stock checks as and when required.
- Ensure all parts are rustband and free of rust.
- Carry out all processes like Bay a Day etc.
- Dispatch
- Ensure all Sales / Production orders (WIP, Spares & Capital) are all picked and laid out in accordance to the DIP’s and there is a double signature and photos taken and filed where applicable.
- Ensure packing of goods in a correct, safe and timely manner in accordance with the customer and job requirements i.e. Carton, pallet (Cling or Shrink Wrap), case or box suitable for all manners of transport.
- Involvement in POD procedure for checking stock locations, quantities as and when required.
- Transact SAP and produce paperwork in order to dispatch goods.
- Aid in arranging transport and work with all SAP paperwork for UK and Export dispatches and update dispatch spreadsheet within system.
- General
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures and legislation and with all safety precautions recommended by paint manufacturer.
- Ensure correct appropriate PPE is worn at all times where required and maintain and apply safety standards in the performance of duties.
- Drive company vehicles and carry out any reasonable task as requested.
- To work in accordance with the Departmental Interface Procedures in an efficient manner appropriate to the above statement.
- Accountable for your own quality of work, self-inspection and completion of paperwork and applicable checklists where required.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities when required to assist the company in its efforts to drive down costs and increase productivity through means such as reducing test setups for example.
- Work with managers to implement the company's policies and goals.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in a Stores/Warehouse/Goods Receiving/Packing and Despatch role.
- Prior experience dealing with various types of materials and administrative tasks, to meet strict operational deadlines/requirements.
- Prior knowledge and experience of using slings and shackles and safe lifting equipment / standards.
- Self motivation, evident as a 'can do/will do' attitude with ability to exercise a good degree of independent judgement.
- Working with a minimum of direct supervision and therefore be able to communicate at various levels.
- Team work, both internal/external to Stores/Receiving.
- Must be prepared to work outside as and when required.
- Computer literate.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
- A current counterbalance forklift truck operating licence will be an additional benefit.
