- Work with the ME to drive adoption of new machining technologies, automation, probing strategies, tool‑life monitoring, and offline programming improvements.
- Lead the development of next‑generation tooling concepts, advanced fixturing, jigs, work holding solutions, and robust setups that maximise repeatability and productivity.
- Align with Operations and Engineering to ensure manufacturing capability and technology readiness levels, to improve productivity for future projects.
- Design, validate, and implement lean, scalable, and highly capable processes across machining, assembly, and test.
- Champion digital tools and Industry 4.0 solutions such as machining data capture, OEE monitoring, and digital work instructions.
- Use data‑driven insights to reduce scrap, rework, and variation, and to optimise machine utilisation and cycle times.
- Provide technical leadership to resolve complex machining, process, and test issues, ensuring robust corrective and preventive actions.
- Own the technical governance of CNC coding standards, machining strategies, tooling specifications, and change control.
- Guide teams through advanced productivity improvements, hydro‑test optimisation, and pump performance testing enhancements.
- Partner with suppliers to co‑develop advanced tooling, machining strategies, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with Engineering on manufacturability, tolerance optimisation, and early‑stage product development (DFM/DFA).
- Lead initiatives to reduce cost of poor quality through process capability improvements, NCR reduction, and improved root‑cause analysis.
- Develop rectification processes for assemblies, castings, and bought‑in product, ensuring quality and cost alignment.
