Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Financial Accounting & Project Costing
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
- Review and approve journals, accruals, prepayments, and project cost allocations.
- Ensure accurate accounting for project costs including subcontractors and suppliers.
- Maintain control over accruals, provisions, and liabilities.
- Ensure costs are recorded in the correct period and aligned to project budgets.
- Support revenue recognition processes.
- Accounts Payable & Supplier Management
- Oversee invoice processing, approvals, payment runs, and reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate coding of supplier invoices to projects and cost centres.
- Manage high volumes of invoices across multiple projects.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and supplier queries.
- Manage supplier payment cycles.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Financial Control & Integrity
- Ensure strong financial controls across accounting and AP.
- Own integrity of financial data and reconciliations.
- Review aged creditors and accruals.
- Maintain clear audit trails.
- Statutory Reporting & Audit
- Support statutory accounts preparation.
- Act as key audit contact.
- Ensure compliance with relevant local GAAPs and US GAAP.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Project Managers and Commercial teams.
- Provide financial guidance to non-finance stakeholders.
- Support project cost reviews.
- Team Leadership
- Manage and develop AP and accounting team.
- Set KPIs across processing, payments, and close.
- Drive accountability and improvement.
- Process Improvement & Systems
- Improve purchase-to-pay and accounting processes.
- Drive automation initiatives.
- Support ERP and system enhancements.
- Improve integration across systems.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive and hands-on.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder management.
Desirable:
- Experience in infrastructure, construction consultancy, or real estate.
- Multi-entity or international experience.
- Exposure to finance transformation projects.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Experience in financial accounting and AP in project-based environments.
- Experience with project costing.
- Understanding of US GAAP.
- Experience managing high-volume AP.
- Strong financial controls knowledge.
- ERP systems experience (Deltek, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Deltek).
- Advanced Excel skills.
