Cegal offers market-leading G&G software and services, including interpretation, data conditioning, QI, and reservoir characterization, as well as subsurface data management and data science workflow solutions. We have hundreds of clients around the globe, from small independents to supermajors, and we’re increasingly expanding into renewables and alternative energy markets to broaden our reach across the energy vertical.
As a Technical Sales Advisor, you will be responsible for selling geoscience and data-related products and services to both new and existing clients, managing a portfolio of accounts. You will collaborate with internal teams to meet customer requirements and provide technical advice and guidance. Conducting market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and the competitive landscape is an important part of the role as well as staying updated on changes to the Cegal product portfolio.
Your contributions
- Own and grow a portfolio of existing customers while driving new business across geoscience and subsurface data management sectors.
- Build and maintain a strong, predictable sales pipeline across new and existing accounts.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to negotiation, proposal creation, and closing.
- Monitor and guide proof of concepts, software evaluations, and pilot deployments through to completion.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, including opportunities, interactions, forecasts, and reporting.
Technical Expertise & Customer Engagement
- Develop a deep understanding of Cegal’s geoscience and data software products, services, and value propositions.
- Deliver tailored technical presentations and product demonstrations to diverse customer audiences.
- Provide expert technical advice, ensuring customers understand product capabilities and best-fit solutions.
- Respond to technical queries and RFI/RFP requests with high quality, accurate information.
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
Collaboration & Internal Alignment
- Work closely with geoscientists, engineers, product teams, and technical support to meet customer needs.
- Communicate customer feedback, market insights, and competitive intelligence to relevant internal teams.
- Stay up to date with product updates, new releases, and industry developments.
- Support other sales teams in Cegal, acting as ambassador of the brand and helping the development of complex, multi-faced proposals.
Market Engagement & Brand Presence
- Represent Cegal at industry events, conferences, workshops, exhibitions, and customer engagements.
- Support marketing and business development initiatives through social media activity and thought leadership.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitive positioning.
- Provide responsive, high quality support to customer enquiries and technical questions.
- Ensure a positive customer experience throughout the sales journey and beyond.
Who you are?

Required technical competencies, skills, and certificates
- Minimum 3 years of relevant business development/account management/sales experience in Energy Sector.
- Have a geoscience related degree and strong understanding of subsurface applications and data flows.
Required behavioral competencies & skills
- Proactive, creative and an active listener.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, at a business-standard level. Other languages advantageous.
- Blueback software and Petrel knowledge would be an advantage.
Some travel will be required.
