Who we are? CEG is a technical equipment rental provider to the entertainment industry working within television, theatre, live music performance and the corporate sector. CEG operates nationwide with many leading production partners and rental customers.

Role Purpose: The role is to be an essential part of our operating solution to provide outstanding customer service to our rental clients by preparing, de‑prepping, maintaining, and assisting with daily operations. To undertake driving duties – collect and deliver goods to and from destinations as required.

Reports To: Operations Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities (Driver):

  • Safely load and unload the vehicles in use.
  • Care for all vehicles and property at all times, often handling high value loads of professional equipment, your driving must reflect this.
  • Be a friendly face of CEG, often being the person that our customers meet, ensuring all your interactions are positive and professional.
  • Drive with the care and attention to minimise the risk of road traffic accidents and hazards.
  • Avoid traffic fines and infringements by driving carefully, safely, and courteously.
  • Park in such a manner as to be considerate to others and to avoid incurring parking fines and penalties.
  • Check the vehicle condition before driving a vehicle or when collecting a hire vehicle.
  • Check details on the paperwork given to ensure that they correspond with the vehicle being collected.

Requirements (Driver):

  • Practical interest in electronics and systems (desirable).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Being physically fit is important as you may be expected to frequently handle products weighing up to 25kg by yourself.
  • Ability to work within a fast‑moving environment with tight deadlines.
  • As we support the events industry, we typically have busier periods and quieter periods, and you must be able to adapt to this.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook, as well as the ability to learn internal management systems.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • A clean and current full driving licence (for at least 25 months) with some commercial vehicle driving experience that includes the ability to drive 3.5T vehicles.
  • A counterbalance forklift licence is preferable but not essential (training can be provided).
  • To be trained in and be competent at loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Willing to live within 30 miles of PE29 7DH or willing to relocate.

Hours: 8.30‑5.30, Monday to Friday. Onsite work is flexible with weekends, evening and overnights possible.

Location: Unit B4, Tower Close, Huntingdon, PE29 7DH.

Terms: This is a permanent full‑time post, subject to references, interview, and practical assessment. The offer is subject to a probation period of 6 months. About working time: This is a full‑time post with some evening and weekend work required, for which you will be compensated. Holiday entitlement for full‑time employees is 20 days per annum plus bank holidays.
