As a Financial Systems Technical Analyst, you’ll be at the heart of where finance meets tech. You will combine your technical skills with financial knowledge to analyse, maintain, and optimise our financial software system (Workday). You will work to improve system efficiency, ensure data accuracy, and implement technical solutions that meet business needs. This role often involves understanding how our organisation uses financial systems to support their operational finance processes, making modifications, and providing support to end users.

You’ll play a key role in Workday’s continued rollout to countries like Australia and Spain and will also support future ERP projects. This role isn’t just about keeping the lights on - it’s about actively improving how we work.

Your Objectives:

  • System Analysis: Analysing existing financial systems to identify areas for improvement and potential solutions.
  • Implementation and Maintenance: Implementing new solutions, services, and making necessary modifications to existing systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving technical issues within financial systems.
  • User Support: Providing technical support to end-users, including training and documentation.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Preparing reports and analysing data to support financial decisions, assist end user queries and prove technical solutions.
  • Collaboration: Working with cross-functional teams, including IT, Finance, and other stakeholders.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Technical Skills - Advanced Excel knowledge, including pivot tables and VBA (essential for managing Workday Enterprise Interface Builders), Technical experience with financial systems - Workday, Sage, or similar and Proficiency in a programming or reporting language (e.g. SQL, Python, or Business Objects).
  • Analytical Skills - Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • User Support - Experience providing technical support and training to end users with the ability to translate technical jargon into everyday language for non-technical users.
  • Ways of Working - Comfortable working in a team environment and managing own workload.
  • Reporting Skills - Writing and maintaining reports to support financial decision-making.

Beneficial Skills & Experience:

  • Experience supporting or leading system implementations or data migrations.
  • Familiarity with Workday-specific tools like EIBs or Workday Studio.
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems such as JIRA.
  • Background in a finance-heavy business or operational finance environment.
  • Exposure to both development and support roles within technical teams.

Location: This role is based in the UK and offers hybrid working - typically 2-3 days per week in the office. We’re flexible on location and open to candidates based near one of our UK head offices, including Durham or Kenilworth.
