A fantastic opportunity has arisen with Ceetak Ltd for an experienced Buyer to join a leading engineering and manufacturing business in Bedford. This role offers the chance to play a key part in supply chain operations, driving supplier performance, cost efficiency and operational excellence within a growing technical organisation.
Ceetak Ltd provides advanced sealing solutions to industries including Automotive & EV, Defence, Oil & Gas, Renewables, and Life Sciences. The company works closely with customers to deliver high-quality products that meet demanding performance and quality standards.
The Role
Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for purchasing company materials while ensuring strong supplier performance, cost efficiency and reliable delivery.
- Manage supplier relationships and support supplier development
- Place purchase orders and negotiate pricing and terms
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain scorecards
- Support day-to-day purchasing activities with the commercial team
- Manage stock levels, scheduling and re-ordering
- Handle shipping documentation and logistics compliance
- Use ERP systems for purchase orders and KPI reporting
- Maintain purchasing data including pricing and item records
- Collate ESG data including freight CO2 reporting
- Support cross-functional collaboration and improvement initiatives
The ideal candidate
The successful candidate will be an organised and analytical purchasing professional with experience managing suppliers and supporting supply chain operations.
- Minimum 3+ years experience in a buying or purchasing role
- Experience within manufacturing or engineering environments (preferred)
- Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
- Good knowledge of purchasing, logistics and supply chain processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience using ERP or CRM systems (preferred)
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- MCIPS qualification desirable
