SUMMARY

This role plays a key part in supporting the strategy, execution, and growth of industry relations programmes within the design and build community, particularly in the EMEA region, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and delivering meaningful value to members. The Design & Build Outreach Specialist contributes to the successful implementation of initiatives across programme oversight, stakeholder engagement, curriculum development, and partnership management. The role is instrumental in maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of continuing education programmes while strengthening relationships across industry partners, volunteers, and internal teams to expand awareness and participation in CEDIA initiatives.

WHAT YOU'LL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • The Design & Build Programme Specialist will be accountable for implementing and evolving the Industry Relations strategy, ensuring programmes are high-quality, measurable, and effectively support member engagement.
  • This includes managing the CEDIA Smart Home Continuing Education Provider programme, overseeing accreditation, compliance, reporting, and administration, as well as tracking programme performance and identifying opportunities for growth and increased participation.
  • This role will also be responsible for engaging and managing key stakeholders, including global outreach instructors, volunteers, subject matter experts, and advisory councils, while fostering strong relationships across industry partners.
  • In addition, you will oversee curriculum and content development for training, events, and trade shows, ensure effective programme delivery and operational management, and support partnerships and outreach efforts—particularly within the architecture and design community—to strengthen CEDIA's presence.
  • This role will also manage programme budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to maximise impact and support organisational objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement the strategic direction for all industry relations activities, in alignment with organisational goals.
  • Identify & define initiatives to support the programme.
  • Ensure effective quality assurance and overall integrity of the industry relations programme.
  • Track, measure, and report on DBO (Design/Build Outreach) programme.
  • Identify and define initiatives that enhance the effectiveness and reach of the programme.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure design & build activities are widely understood and supported.
  • Account management of the CEDIA Smart Home Continuing Education Providers.
  • Policing the use of the programme within the CEDIA membership.
  • Any administration of the programme (including CRM inputs; tracking & reporting of use of the Design Build Outreach programme & engagement in the CEU/CPD courses).
  • Monitoring and accreditation of the CEU/CPD/CEP accredited courses with the relevant Architect & Design associations (globally) to ensure that they are current and their accreditation is up-to-date.
  • Identify and manage task forces/working groups developing or updating CEU/CPD/CEP materials.
  • Account management of global DBO's (globally), maximising member engagement in DBO and all CEDIA programmes.
  • Identify, manage, and support all Industry Relations volunteers, including programme advocates, mentors, instructors, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Serve as liaison for relevant advisory councils, including hosting meetings and supporting the Industry Relations Advisory Council in defining responsibilities and objectives.
  • Create, maintain, and implement curriculum for all CEDIA Industry Relations training classes, special events, meetings, and tradeshows globally.
  • Develop and maintain all supporting materials (e.g., PowerPoints, handouts).
  • Ensure content is current, relevant, and in compliance with continuing supplier guidelines.
  • Repurpose and update face-to-face and online curriculum and related materials.
  • Identify gaps & opportunities in content development.
  • Support planning and execution of 'Train the Trainer' classes, including pre-, during-, and post-event coordination.
  • Submit and maintain 'continuing education' reports to partner organisations.
  • Maintain programme metrics, including evaluations from events/training & content.
  • Manage continuing provider payments and dues to partner associations.
  • Manage CEDIA's content participation in relevant industry events and tradeshows.
  • Identify and support (where relevant) CEDIA's presence at UK-based events for architecture & design.
  • Identify and liaise with partner associations to maximise programme opportunities, ensure compliance, and steward CEDIA's investments.
  • Support global contractors in developing & implementing local programmes that increase member engagement, retention, and growth outside of the USA and UK.
  • Manage relationships with UK based architecture & design associations to maximise CEDIA's brand awareness opportunities & raise awareness of the Smart Home Technology industry.
  • Provide & track budgets for UK based Design & Build initiatives.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong programme management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives, track performance, and deliver outcomes to a high standard.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with experience working with volunteers, industry partners, and cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of the UK design and build, architecture, or construction sectors, with an understanding of how to engage these audiences effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly and influence a range of audiences.
  • Ability to develop and maintain engaging training content and materials, both in-person and online.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail, particularly in programme administration, reporting, and data tracking.
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data, measure programme success, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Financial awareness, with the ability to manage budgets, track spend, and prioritise resources effectively.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently while contributing to wider team objectives.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK (and occasionally internationally) to support events, training, and industry engagement.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Educated to degree level (e.g. Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years' related experience.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and managing programme-related data and reporting.
  • Experience managing continuing professional development (CPD) or education programmes, including accreditation processes and compliance requirements.

TRAVEL

Must have the ability to travel (local & where needed internationally) as needed (expected travel is up to 10%). In addition to the travel required for this role, you will be required to attend our annual company global offsite, typically located in the US.
